The

Chefs
put Lake Point Tower on foodie map
By Phil Vettel
Chicago Tribune, June 6 2006,
Rated 3 Stars, Excellent
With its tiny, understated entrance carved
into the base of Lake Point Tower, just steps from the attention-grabbing
lights of Navy Pier, Copperblue (click for address, maps, hours) is an
easy restaurant to overlook.
Too bad. Serious diners should put this 50-seat
fine-dining restaurant at the top of their
short list.

Chef's
special: Tsontson gives Copperblue a Mediterranean tilt on
By Pat Bruno
Rated 3 Stars, Very Good
The nomadic nature of chefs never ceases to amaze me. Take Michael Tsonton,
chef and co-owner (along with Victor Newgren) of Copperblue restaurant.
Tsonton has done the chef thing at Tizi Melloul, Courtright's, Lakeview
Supper and, if I am not mistaken, I believe he did a short stint at Brio
and Eli's the Place for Steak.
That's quite a stew of restaurants: Moroccan, Spanish, contemporary American,
steakhouse. Tonston picked up a little something from each stop and honed
his craft to a fine edge.

Neighborhood Restaurants of Chicago
by Sierra
Travel Channel, August 1, 2006
We
all dream of an intimate upscale bistro or restaurant where they know
us by name, and treat us like a celebrity when we walk in the door: they
know our favorite table, they know our preferences on wines and foods,
and they even know our favorite server.
Copperblue (copperbluechicago.com) is this kind of place, and I could
easily see myself succumbing to the discreet pampering of this charming
Streeterville restaurant.

Welcome
move into Streeterville
By Anne Moore
Crain's Chicago Business, March 06, 2006
It's fitting that a fine-dining restaurant
would make a home at the base of Lake Point Tower, one of Chicago's first
luxury skyscrapers. Built in 1968, it's still distinctive in the city's
skyline because of its curved glass walls and unique setting east of Lake
Shore Drive.
To its east is Navy Pier, and
to its west is the burgeoning River East development, once full of warehouses
but now a wonderful mix of high- and low-rise living along and near the
Chicago River. It's a part of town where it's easy to grab a beer and
burger, but a whole lot harder to find a place you'd take a client, parents
or a date.
Copperblue, which opened in January, fits that bill perfectly.
